Why Blue?
The reason I became a Blue back in the early seventies was Red and Black! Let me explain. At that time I lived in Manchester and went to see all the teams in the area, including City, Liverpool, Everton, Burnley, Preston, etc., and even the Trafford Trollops! However, no team really grabbed my support until a fateful match at a ground in Stretford. It was at an away match with the Trollops that City picked me as a supporter, and the reason was their classic away strip of Red and Black stripes. This strip was identical to that worn by Bohemians FC, my team in Dublin. The coincidence was predestined and City was the only team for me from that match on, forever. Incidentally, when will we return to that away strip? It is so much more impressive than some of the tacky outfits worn by City in recent years.
