A look at the transfer news tonight from Ernie and Tévez confirms his poorly kept secret that he doesn’t particularly want to return to Manchester.

Meanwhile our raid on the Gooners is proving fruitful as we sign Clichy and are in talks for Nasri. I imagine Wenger “did not see” that one coming…

We also have a view on the reporting and update on the Vancouver Whitecaps pre-season game. Anyone heading off to the American tour please do think of sending in your match views and experiences.

Next Game: Club America, 5pm 16 July 2011 (pre-season tour)

OPINION: TRANSFERS

After reading all the newspapers and media reports on who Manchester City will sign during the summer break, if you believed every report it would make one think that City had no players left from last season.

However, I do think that MCFC were trying very hard to get Alexis Sanchez, who by all accounts prefers going to Barcelona, but Barça are not prepared to pay such a high fee, leaving the Italian club Udinese to say that the player will stay. City say that they have pulled out of trying to get the player, but if Sanchez changed his mind about playing for City, I think that MCFC would jump at the chance of signing such a great prospect who is only 22 years old.

And now Barcelona appear to be turning their attention to Cesc Fabregas who desperately wants to join the Catalan club from the Gooners. What Robinho and Tévez have both said about the City of Manchester in ways that do not flatter this great city will not always help some player to move and if that is the case we only want players that will show their desire to want and play in any conditions – they are the true footballers.

Will MCFC get the duo from the Gooners? Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy, both good players that would fit perfectly into positions that City need to strengthen. If Cesc Fabregas gets his wish and goes to Barça, then the Gooner fans will be protesting about losing such good players.

Just read several articles today (Monday) that Carlos Tévez does not want to come back to Manchester for family reasons. Tévez is a good family man, but he does not get any sympathy from me after what he said about the great city of Manchester; what did that have to do with his love of his family?

With the money Tévez was making, just stay for two more seasons as MCFC has offered him, and he could look after his family for the rest of their lives; that is love for your family – giving them security! Tévez has a contract, so have all our brave men and women who serve in the forces to defend our great countries; they go away from their families too without a complaint and they complete their contracts with pride.

Tévez playing football, a game he loves, does not put his life on the line with his contract, he has become a prima donna of the worst kind.

I would be a fool if I said we will not miss him, but the club can still find someone who will be passionate to play for the great club of Manchester City. One player is not City and never will be. I still will be sorry to see Tévez go, but pleased if the club gets another great striker!

As much as us City fans want to see MCFC sign players, it is best for us to wait if it means City getting the best!

In Roberto I trust!
