Newsletter #1715

A micro edition tonight with the international friendly break meaning not much happening out there for us Blues; we have a response from Phil and a couple of parish notices.

Next Game: Sunderland, home, 4pm Sunday 3 April 2011

OPINION: PEDANTS’ CORNER

Ok, I’m banged to rights, and I write this without a hint of sarcasm, but apologies to any readers who were disappointed that I gave Nigel de Jong two ratings for the same match. Was it a case that Nige was so good that I rated him twice or was it a case of ‘I used to be indecisive, now I’m not so sure!’ Neither I’m afraid. Just a good old-fashioned mistake. Sometimes when you can’t get someone to proof read your own work and have to rush it between work, changing nappies, reading bedtime stories, eating and having a life etc. I miss things! Anyway, enough of my excuses. So, Nige got an 8 and then a 9 from me (never thought my opinions were that important myself but hey). On reflection, (and for all that it matters) for me Nige should have got a 9, but it’s only my opinion (or is it opinions)!

Oh and by the way, Mr Martin Hunt, ‘Banerjee’ has one ‘n’ in it (tut, tut, sir)! At least Martin didn’t spell my name ‘Paul Balancey’ like some daft herbert did the other day (maybe I should get that plastered on the back of my City shirt in time for Wemberlee) or ‘Mr Ba’ (junkmail, well, Mum’s from Yorkshire) or ‘Mr Bannersea’ (Bannersea Power Station?) as some Scots bloke did a couple of years ago. Ah well, I’ve been called a lot worse…

Like I say, I’ll keep trying to get it right in my reports.

Best wishes to all Blues out there.
