Disappointment at the Stadium of Light as we ground out a draw against Sunderland thanks to a great goal by Adam Johnson. There’s opinion on the recent away games tonight and a look at the potential City franchise in the USA.
A short issue tonight folks!
Next Game: Fulham, away, 3pm Sunday 21 March 2010OPINION: RECENT GAMES
After watching this game I had to make a comparison between the Sunderland goalkeeper and the one that Chelsea employed in our previous away game. I think most people will agree that if Craig Gordon had been between the sticks for Chelsea that day then City would not have won the game. The actions of Hilario in attempting to save two of City’s goals were so theatrical as to be called ‘Hilarious’ and an observer would be forgiven for thinking that the game was deliberately ‘thrown’, but that would not make much sense since Chelsea are competing for first place, unless there is some other ulterior motive.
Be that as it may I was very happy to see Adam Johnson’s goal. His performance today was so exhilarating that I think he should be on the pitch from the start as he is clearly a cut above Shaun Wright-Phillips. He only needs more game time and I think he will bring home the goods. Even more so when combining with Stephen Ireland. I suppose that it is too late for Capello to include him in the England squad for the World Cup! City should have won this game in the second half. Bellamy was selfish. He seems to think that he can score against any goalkeeper with his acute angle shots. He only had to cut the ball back and somebody should have scored.
