Performances

Hart: His series of top drawer saves kept us in the match, and he had no chance with the deflected winner: 9 (Man of the Match)
Sagna: Whilst he didn’t get forward very much he can be happy with an evening of really good touch-tight defending: 8
Kompany: Another top draw showing from the skipper: 8
Demichelis: Rock solid: 8
Clichy: Another quietly efficient performance: 7
Navas: Didn’t get much of the right kind of service but his attitude in defence and attack was exemplary: 7
Yaya: If he is going to show as little interest as this and put in as little effort then he should be dropped. His only significant contributions were one run in the first half and to get booked. Disgraceful: 1
Fernandinho: Worked tirelessly al evening, and had to, doing the errant Yaya’s job for him. He was sharp in the tackle and passed the ball intelligently. Clearly City#s best outfield player: 9
Nasri: Struggled to impose himself on the game, but he did work hard:6
Silva: City’s best chance of a goal, whether he was just behind the striker or 7
Dzeko: Held the ball up and competed very well indeed: 7

Subs:

Milner (for Nasri 58): He was a huge improvement on Yaya, because he tried hard, and we were therefore more competitive in midfield as a result: 7
Aguero (for Dzeko 74): Bright and lively: 7
Kolarov (for Navas 88): Could have done more to close Boateng down for the Bayern winner: n/a

Best Oppo: Lahm: What a great player he is, and to think he has spent the vast majority of his career at right or left back. He has great technique, superb judgement and a natural football brain: 9

Refwatch: A U Mailenco (Spain): Mostly even handed but how he could be so sure that Silva wasn’t fouled in the box is anyone’s guess: 6
