August 22nd 2003: Colin Lee's search for an experienced central defender came to an end today after the Walsall manager signed former Scotland international and Man City defender Paul Ritchie on a free transfer. Ritchie has had an tough time at Maine Road following his switch from Rangers three season's ago and spent time on loan in Division One last season with Portsmouth and Derby County. Lee has been working around the clock to add a defender to his squad and after missing out on several targets in recent weeks, he can finally focus his attentions on beefing up his forward line.
