For a long time Chris was rated as young and promising, but after enduring the bad journey from the premiership down to 2nd Division and back to 1st without getting a regular place in the team it became clear that his future lied elsewhere. During his first 4 years he played more games for other clubs (on loan) than for City and his fifth spell on loan also secured him a permanent move. Mansfield Town claimed the striker on a free transfer after impressing the management during a three month loan spell at Field Mill.
