Dave Connor played for City 152 (+12 sub) times in two spells between 1962 and 1975, including the FA Cup semi-final in 1969. He was the (unused) substitute for the final. Dave now runs the Mellands sports centre, about halfway between Belle Vue and Levenshulme. I play five- a-side there most Monday evenings and he's been known to turn out occasionally if a team's a man short.
